Most of my Blogher 2011 time was spent at the Expo Hall. I go to Savvy Blogging Summit to learn and I go to Blogher to interact with brands, other bloggers, and have to have fun!
The Expo Hall was so much fun. Brands had some awesome ideas on how to make it interactive for bloggers. From taking booth pictures, video testimonials, to tweeting contests…there was so much to experience in the Expo Hall.
Though, it was still apparent that some still weren’t exactly sure how to work with bloggers. A few of the brands, I wasn’t sure if they actually wanted to work with bloggers or just wanted to sell their products to us. It was a little unclear. The fact they were there, though, shows their willingness to learn…which is a step in the right direction!
Other brands were very upfront with how they wanted to work with bloggers, which was so nice. In one private meeting with a brand, it was apparent the brand wanted to work with bloggers and wanted our feedback. It was nice to have an open minded brand to begin working with.
It is always much more fun to walk around with a friend too! The first day, I walked around with Marcy. Then, we walked around with Mercedes for awhile. The next day I walked around with my husband for awhile. Then, my third trip around the Expo Hall, I followed my new friend, Wild for Wags around.
There was quite a bit of swag to be had, which is always fun. However, I get just as excited for a coupon (of course!) as I do anything else! Coupons are easy to mail out to readers so I will be using quite a few of those for reader giveaways in the future.
